Also, get out and vote this Tuesday, if you are old enough. Obama, McCain, McKinney, Nader, Barr or anyone. Just get out and exercise that privilege. I know plenty of people around the world who would love to have your power. And vote on local matters as well.

Jinghao came up with an ingenius "smart" script to let the youtube BBCode work no matter what url you input, direct or indirect Youtube. So, just copy/paste either version of the desired video's url into the code. All we need now is the url itself to be transformed as it is on Facebook... but that's for another day.

Well, an historic day here at Origin as another in our serious series of changes as we reinvent ourselves and our purpose comes to fruition. Now, we can watch videos from Youtube right here on the forums with a new embedding BBcode.

Be wary! At least for now due to coding incompatibilities with youtube's swf "watch" urls, you will need to use a non-direct youtube url when coding.

When faced with a url such as the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8M6BZDrdIo&feature=related

You must delete "watch?" and replace "=" with "/" to become: http://www.youtube.com/v/b8M6BZDrdIo&feature=related

Anyone familiar with gaining (illegal, and not recommended) access to foreign material on Youtube will recognize the procedure.

The password protection from the Origin Pub has been lifted. This does not mean that content will change, and it will be moderated to make sure it does not. Hope this doesn't sound intimidating; just remember nothing even remotely pornographic is permitted.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, you ask and you receive here at Origin. Posting Games now count for posts. Hopefully this incentive for coming on and posting will garner us more activity. I know that when I come on for those quick exercises in fun I often stay and post around, and hopefully they'll become a base for activity as they were last summer.

Hello one and all, I'm back from holiday and ready to serve the masses here at Origin... and what's left of it, now that Al is gone and the ebb of activity seems to be at an all-time summer low. Well, it's almost the end. Even I will not be on as much as usual due to a semi-strict work schedule, as I suppose most of us are easing back into. I'll do my best to keep this place moving, and hopefully into the winter months with a larger member base than in years past.

The next 11 days, I will be absent from Origin -- but hey, its not like this place is empty enough already.

I will be heading to Thailand (Bangkok), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Singapore.

Hi everybody,

In a few days, I will be embarking for Hong Kong for my study abroad journey. That means I probably won't be on here as much until September. Origin, hopefully, by the time I get back will be better -- and by that, I mean opening the Pub and perhaps a new interface look.

Anyway, for those of you who are here, I say goodbye and see you later. I'm sure you guys will miss me.

It was confusing to have every instance of Jinghao replaced with my face, and when you quoted me, my face would break the quote. And since the icon of my face was far wider than the average clickable smiley, it stretched the smiley box wider than it is natural.

Hence I renamed it to :jinghao: and made it not clickable. I have also removed the even larger smiley.
