P4s are plenty fast enough for just about anything. Your computers are just way overqualified to work for you......blah.

I still don't know why you guys are on Vista about it's use of RAM. It works fine, FINE I SAY, with 1 gig of ram. 2 gigs is great.

It's problems are in it's tendency to stop working right after awile, and it's non-compatibility with almost everything XP.

I think it's because of superfetch, which basically uses as much ram as you have. Supposedly it makes the entire experience faster. So I recommend getting more ram if you're on Vista.

Fast enough for just about anything?

I run multiple programs at once. I don't have time to wait for things to finish. I use photoshop, open office, Pidgin, Skype, iTunes and the Internet all at once. What do you do? o_o

All of those, cept I use WMP instead of Itunes, because Itunes sucks, and I don't use photoshop. I also might have a game playing.

Never have problems of slowdowns. I only have problems with graphics in video games, and that's more my video card than anything else.

my p4 will run Xbox 360 ports..I played both oblivian and fallout today.......you don't know much about computer gaming, do you?

It's not processing power they require, it's video memory and RAM.

512 megabytes is less than what Sims 3 requires!

Intel GMA cards are standard, but if you want to do a lot more at once, get a dedicated. I have the NVIDIA 9300M GS.
