OOC: I suppose four people is enough to start out with, so I'll do the first post to get things going.

Jasmine came downstairs from her second-level apartment and walked into the silent bar. She loved seeing it full of patrons, loud with friendly chatter and the occasional drunken spat, but this was her favorite time of day. The polished wood shone in the sunlight, every surface clean and glistening. Going to the door, she unlocked it and waited for other members of her staff to arrive. She still had an hour before opening, and went back into the kitchen to make sure everything was in order. The cook had quit last week, so for now she was handling things. But how long could she juggle so many things at once? She caught her reflection in the mirror and nodded with approval. Her long black hair was brushed smooth and hung down her back. She was clad in a loose red silk shirt and a snug pair of faded jeans, torn at the knee and a hole in the thigh. She dressed for comfort, not to put on pretenses.

To occupy her time, she pulled chairs down from tables and wiped down every surface.

He walked into the bar pushing the wooden doors open as he walked his feet made little noise against the wood floor as he walked towards the darker part of the bar. As he sat down in his usual spot he could feel there eyes staring at him , he could feel how many were afraid of him and the destruction he was capable by just lifting up one hand. His red eyes saw Jasmine working he would not disturb unless she had another person taken care of. he shut his blood red eyes as he started to mediate keeping his eyes he concealed his true power which was at a level of complete devastation. he worked in concealing his power cause he knew there some here that would rather have him dead.

Raven walked into the tavern slowly, turning pages in his book without missing a step. He nodded to the tavern mistress, then walked over to his usual table near the fire, sitting down and setting his book down on the table, before stretching with a yawn. He had been up most of the night performing experiments with a variety of powders for fireworks. He looked around, not having seen the place so empty in a while, and he pulled a platinum coin out of his pocket, tossing it onto the bar in front of Jasmine as she stepped behind it. He grinned as she looked up, and then picked up his book again, reading it quietly, his fingers turning the pages every few minutes.

He kept to himself, as usual, but observed the guests as well. His race were powerful, but they had taken up a protective role of younger races, and he was no exception. He made it a priority to protect the tavern, as he had made friends with many of the taverngoers, including the owner.

Jasmine leaned a hip against the bar and grabbed the coin.

"What can I get you?" She asked Raven. He rarely ordered anything to drink, but she always asked. He was always so quiet and bored, she kind of made it a personal goal to bring him out of his shell.

Raven looked up, and grinned. He had an interesting time trying to figure out the young woman. She always tried her best to get to know people, and see the best in people. The bouncer she hired was one such person, huge and strong, but very quiet, so that most people thought he was stupid. Raven saw the intelligence in the eyes, though, and he thought Jasmine did too. So he figured he'd order some wine and some breakfast.

"A good breakfast wine, and one of your omelettes, please."

"Coming right up." She opened a drawer to get out a dish towel, then bumped it closed with her hip. Luckily, she'd known how to make an omlette since she was seven years old, so it wasn't a difficult order. She only prayed that every other order would be so simple. She poured the eggs into the pan and served him his drink while she waited for them to cook. "Red or white?" She noticed the man back in the corner and leaned closer to Raven. "What do you know about that guy over there?" she whispered.

Raven raised an eyebrow, looking up discreetly, and shrugged. He knew very little about the race of the person, but he knew a bit about him.

"He's a loner, very powerful, but a bit lacking in control. White, please."

Odd hated show-offs. They were never friendly, they were never considerate, and they always did something to mess the place up. Worst of all, they hardly ever left tips.

He didn't know for sure who had done it, but if he found out who shook up the tavern without provocation, he would give 'em his patented one-two jaw breaker.

Odd bent down and picked up a couple of chairs that had fallen over and pushed them back under their tables. He then stepped over the spilled drinks on the floor, which he had been carrying before the miniature quake, and went in search of a towel. As he went behind the counter, he glanced over at Jas and noticed her talking to Raven.

'Impressive,' Odd thought, 'Shes got him forming complete sentences today.'

Just as he grabbed a rag to clean up the mess out on the floor, one of the patrons called him over to order. Odd gave the man a once over before gesturing for him to wait. The guy looked poor, so Odd was in no hurry to serve him. There wasn't going to be a tip.

Jas gestured for Odd to wait on the impoverished-looking patron. Tip or no, he was still a customer and deserved the best service she could give. Then she focused in on the man who had upended the tavern. She stormed over to him, hands on her hips.

"Look, pal, if you're trying to provoke someone, take it outside. Don't mess up my tavern. I don't want any trouble here, understand?"

She walked away without waiting for an answer and got Raven his white wine.

Raven raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. Power was, more often than not, misused. He himself learned that lesson the hard way, and would never use his powers for his own gain again. He sipped at the wine Jasmine gave him, and thumbed through his book, finding the page he was last at. It was a book he had been reading for a while, since he had to learn the language it was written in as he was reading. One good thing about his race was their gift of tongues. As he read, he kept an eye on the taverngoers, seeing the breakfast crowd slowly shuffling in, many of them people who worked nights.
