I want everyone to listen to this. I composed this myself. I'll apologize for the abrupt ending, but I'm only about 80% done with it. I would appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, and it's just a midi file, so nobody should have a problem getting to hear it. Thanks.

happy0082.gif dude, that was awesome!!! Pretty long too.

How did you make it?

The only criticism I have is perhaps the overuse of the crash symbal at the begin. If you mixed it up a bit, had some hi-hats or ride symbals or something to mix it up, or simply used it less it would be more effective. For instance, when the initial "intro" segment ends and the symbals stop, then you have the keyboard/bass sound and the occassional symbal, then the symbal sounds really effective. When it is going constantly, it is quite irritating.

However, later in the song when it is back constantly, it works because the song has been built up and the tempo establish. I think at the beginning you should lay off it a little and kind of ease us in.

That's all ssmile.gif

Cool, I'm gonna check it out.

Is it for a particular project, or just for fun?

Basically, it's just for fun. The program is very useful, you can download it free at http://www.anvilstudio.com

EDIT: Anyway, I've written many songs like this, so I should ask, would these have any place in the XT project? I've written like 70 something songs, at least, and I think they would make a good contribution, and along with them, I could write tips for composing music, and stuff like that, so would that fit with everything?

Great, looks like I have a bit more work to do, and as long as I have articles to accompany the music, the general theme of the XT project should hold. Alright, I will be working on this for the next few weeks then. ninja.gif

Yeah, that's basically what I plan on doing. And, I'll have to provide a little about music theory, tips, etc. The finished product should be quite nice.
