What took so long for those blatant spam threads to be deleted? I mean c'mon, they filled up the Latest Replies page for a day and a half. >_>

I hoped that you were testing something and that you'd delete them yourself. I had more faith that you would be responsible enough to clean after your own mess. And you wanted to be a moderator?

Well, I was deliberately testing the current Reps. I'd say they get a 40/100 for taking several days to fix the problem. I'd have deleted them the first time I saw them, had I the power. Of course, that's assuming I'm not myself upon seeing them. I can already delete my own threads. stongue.gif Who deleted them btw? You get a cookie.

Why would I blatantly break the rules, and then clean it up and say sorry? I'd just not break the rules to begin with. o_o

How was it a dick move? If the posts had been deleted the day they were created, or as soon as someone with power's to do so logged on, the score would be 100/100.

This only adds to what I can contribute to these forums. I believe that authority has become slack, and if I'm made a moderator, I'll either petition for finicky rules to be reformed/deleted, or I will enforce the rules as a moderator should. Rules are in place so that things remain fun for everyone who values our forum, and if the rules are allowed to be broken like they just were, that notion will be traipsed upon. .

I would think that you are mature enough not to run around naked like a 3 year old and mess things up.

Um, I think they are capable of deleteing spam. It's a weak argument at best, to say that you should be admin.
Why do you want to be admin, anyways? Being an admin is work. As a member of the site, you have the power to try to convince people to join you on changing things (No censorship here), or the power to leave if you don't like it. As a manager, you only have one of those two. Why would anyone want that?

I was on vacation during this entire incident, so only know what's on this thread, but from the way I see it, there's no real problem, as long as people don't go around pulling dick moves.

If I were still at my apartment, I would have deleted them. My internet now is too slow to waste that much time on.

If you think I should be more strict, then so be it.

Hey, I think that Uno just needs to get the stick out of his ass, but that's just me. No need to vent on everyone else over it, right? LOL.

I don't have a stick in my ass. I just have a stance. I love work, btw. I love being valued for the work that I do. Don't get me wrong, I don't want compliments. I hate getting compliments. I just like responsibility, and that people trust me enough to give me responsibility. I also believe that if you want to get something changed, you should point it out and openly criticize it, which I have done.

Oh, and Jingy, I would have eventually deleted them, but it hasn't been that long. I shouldn't have had to delete them. Yourself, Al, and Garlic posted a few times in between the times of their creation and their deletion.

Good. But I don't see how the fun is over. I personally hate spam in my Latest Replies page.

Usually when ostensibly responsible members "spam" like that, they're trying to test something out—feature-wise. I post spam every once in a while to test out code, tags, and such—and I don't expect my fellow admins to delete my posts because I know that they trust that I know what I'm doing.

Let's just say I trusted that you had a purpose (besides "testing" us) to the spamming. After I realized that was a false assumption, I deleted the topics. (Yes, I did)

By the way, stealing a bunch of money from a bank to see whether you get caught isn't the best way to make a statement about your qualifications to be a police officer; the same goes for spamming to make a statement about your qualifications to be a moderator.

Don't get me wrong—I understand that you're a responsible man. I just think you were wrong to "test" us.

It won't happen again. But, it has happened, so it should be addressed. It wasn't just a expression of my abilities, (Don't get me wrong, it was stongue.gif) but it was also a genuine concern of mine, as a member, that the enforcing of the rules had become lax. If a rule is too finicky, or too strict, or obsolete, then reform or delete it; don't just stop enforcing it. I personally think that if you want to say "My cat is purple" in a thread where posts don't count, you should be able to do it, an so any rule forbidding such action should be abolished. However, even if the rule isn't exactly ideal, it's still a rule, and should be followed-- AND enforced. I don't have moderating power, and posting a formal thread detailing how I think someone isn't doing their job right is both pompous and ineffective. Therefor, this display helps to identify the problem first hand instead of me droning about it. Plus, I'd have to go through a bunch of threads and find specific examples of rule-breaking and the lack of even the slightest hint of rule-enforcement, and let's face it, that's too much damn work. One example though, would be the Ronald Reagan topic in World News. I even commented on the debauchery.

About Al's ass-stick: He did that in "Noooo Way" too. o_O You ok, Al? I thought you were taking a serious approach...
