What took so long for those blatant spam threads to be deleted? I mean c'mon, they filled up the Latest Replies page for a day and a half. >_>

OK, I will say this, once, and if it doesn't sink in, maybe a dozen more times, if I have to.

We didn't have a spamming problem before. Every now and then, we got spam in the middle of a thread. It was funny. No one cared. If we ever did have a spamming problem, I am sure that our boys here would handle it.

As far as you wanting responsibility, what happened between me and you is proof enough in my mind you can't handle that responsibility in the way that the people who have that power now do. You want everyone to fallow the rules? You have a horrible track record on fallowing them yourself.

Spaming, flaming, trolling. You've done it all. So have I, that's how I know.

Just drop the idea of being an admin, they don't need another guy doing that.

Wow, Uno, please, personally, stop this line right now.

I know where you are coming from - I have advocated for years either the loosening of rules or the tightening of procedures. Neither of these arguements leads to a good way. This forum is the best it has been since its birth - long may it continue in this vein. We don't need stricter mods or looser rules - what we have now works fine ssmile.gif

I just don't like the idea of rules that aren't enforced. If irks me when I follow the rules and expect no praise for doing so (Cause it's a no brainer) and others break them without even a slap on the wrist. Yet, when someone attacks my character for little reason, repeatedly without yielding, while I'm only trying to end the argument, we both get warned. I'll stop this tangent now, because I respect Garlic and Jinghao for their commendable and respectful requests, but by no means will I stop pointing things out. After all, as a former econ teacher of mine once said, if you don't turn onto politics, politics will turn on you. I feel a great desire to be involved in this site, and if I'm going to be involved, I'm going to leave a mark. Always leave something better than you found it, I always say.

Look, don't be a D-bag. Every offence you percieved that I did to you, you either did it right back, or you started it. You started by insulting my character, first. Me expressing my oppinion on something you disagreed with was a terrible offence, one that warrented you insulting me over and over, yet you feel you should be allowed to speak your mind? f*ck you, and your hypocrisy. Don't pretend to be a victem.

As for you and those rules......

I hate rules. I hate them. I hate them so much. A rule is something people with power dictate over people without it, to free them from independent thought. You want to cleanse this site of sepsis and autonomy, go ahead and try, I will fight you on every turn. I like things how they are. The lack of rules is an abundance of freedom.

And, finally,
You are not admin material. This isn't MSN groups, where any jackass can be an admin. The admins on this site are held to a higher standard, one me or you are not at. So don't try. It's annoying. It's just trying to grasp at power, so you can feel special. You arn't needed, everything is going fine, don't worry about it.

Now, if you absolutely feel you have to try to improve this site, get RPing happening again. No one has RPed on this site in forever. That would be an area that needs improvement.

You give up? Then, good, that's all I wanted. I probably could have said all that without being a dick, but I feel strongly about it. Not because of things on this site, but on many other sites, I have seen what bad admining can do, and I don't want that to happen here. This is the one place where being an admin doesn't mean you are god of that site. This is the one place, where I know that tomarrow, it isn't going to run itself into the ground. I like it. I don't want anything to happen to it.

Not different enough to me. Also, you are the type who likes rules. I am not. So, I don't want you having any power at all over me, and will do what I have to do, in order to make sure it doesn't happen.

It's nothing personal. I just think that you arn't admin material for a site like this. I'm not claiming to be that myself, so it's not an insult or anything, just a statement of how I view it.

That sounds a little reminiscent of the view Adolph Hitler had.

The rules stay because the things they forbid should still be discouraged. We don't want them gone altogether. Serious flaming, and spam will be dealt with. A weak insult, or a tangent in a discussion won't be punished because not only do they make it more fun to be here, but they would really make the topics very narrow.

EDIT: I don't really want to re-open this, but when was Icey harassed? And I believe I said serious flaming will be dealt with, not weak insults. With that said, I've never warned anybody, including that viral dragon guy, who happened to have something against me, so pointing out my theoretical hypocrisy doesn't really help your case. There's a line between what's acceptable, and what isn't, do you really think that the line as it stands is too low?

From what you're saying, it sounds like you think harassment is ok. I mean Icey got harassed without any action to stop it, and so did I. If I harrassed you, you'd probably warn me until I got banned.

Hup. No further actions will be taken. Now I'm going to close a spam farm topic.

I wondered why a spam farm topic was closed.

Uno, you held yourself in good respect while getting flamed. "D-bag" "dick" and "Adolf Hitler" are definitely flames, and you responded to them well.

I appreciate your point of view, it is one that I share, but I'll give you some advice - I have been where you are for years, but I have come to realise - this is just a forum. It isn't a country. It isn't a government. It isn't politics. To argue these points is a waste of everyone's time to be honest. Sure, the rules should be upheld, but more and more so it seems that "judgement call" ruling is more effective. Myself and Grand and Haven are like 3 segments of one whole, our viewpoints all balance out and between the 3 of us we generally stamp out abuse and flaming when it crops up.

Spamming isn't a problem any more. Sure there are rules. But they don't need to be enforced right now.

I just basically wanted to appeal to you to personally find something more worthwhile or your time, energy and enthusiasm, and commend you for not rising up and flaming back. Well done.
