So I was looking at Dunkin Donuts' webpage. There's a very convenient tab called "Shop Online". When you hover over it, you can see coffee, tea, clothes, coffee equipment, and gift ideas. Can you guess what's missing?

THE f*ckING DONUTS.

so i continued browsing every tab, and eventually came across "Featured Products". I said to myself, "Self, surely donuts are the first thing you'll see here." What did I find? Waffle Breakfast, sandiwches, dunkaccino, iced tea, flatbread, sandwiches, white hot chocolate, tropicana coolatta, indulgent iced lattes, hot coffee, iced coffee, turbo, latte lite, cookies, and flavored coffee. Guess what? STILL NO DONUTS.

Finally, under nutrition, i find it hiding in the corner. bagels, bakery, beverages, oven toasted items, donuts, dunkin deli

You would *think* that a company called Dunking Donuts would be advertising their donuts. But nooo, you don't see a single bloody mention of donuts except under that sub-tab. I almost thought I had the wrong website.

Am i the only one who has a hard time getting information out of websites? I remember trying to figure out the new mountain dew flavors, and i couldn't find it on the official pepsi/mountain dew website for the life of me. I ended up going to wikipedia to find out.

On another note, I sent them a Product Feedback of my entire first post, minus the last 2-3 sentences. I like the message on that page:

Maybe the goal is to get people to talk about them o_o Free publicity?

And perhaps people already know they make donuts...

Weren't you looking for the kind of donuts they have? Yeah, that is really stupid.

I think it's because people in a health-consious world like ours shun donuts. DD draws them in with coffee, then when they get inside, they see the donuts and can't resist. I like to add that the Dunken Donuts logo is a coffee cup, and some major slogans include: "50 Years of Great-tasting Coffee" and "Something fresh is always brewin’ here!"

It's sad, really.

*snickers* I remember Uno mentioned this to me yesterday. Wikipedia says, "Dunkin' Donuts claims to be the "world's largest coffee and baked goods chain"" and it seems like one of their big competitors is Starbucks. So maybe the focus has shifted away from donuts, Jay.

I don't see how it's bad advertising to not have donuts as a prominant part of their website.

Who buys donuts over the internet? I buy coffee all the time, but never donuts, online. Also, they can't list all the donuts they have, because not ever place makes all of them. They only have them online, just so people who like to complain can't say they didnt.

They do have a list of all of the donuts they serve. It's under nutrition. I think the point is that they are trying to draw attention away from the fact that they sell donuts, what with the logo and all the slogans being about coffee.

Many commercial websites are poorly designed, both technically and logically. Dunkin Donuts really wants to be known for its coffee so it can be a Starbucks competitor... really NOWHERE on their website to they specifically advertise their donuts at all. This nutrition tab has no pictures or anything, and is only there by law. Seeing how many varieties and "fancy" donuts they have, I'm surprised.

I say they should be truer to their name. Advertise them donuts, douchebags!

True to their name? that's just odd?

*Patronizing Voice*
What kind of society do we live in right now? What do people eat more of, donuts, or coffee? What's the ecconomy like right now?

They are going to do what's best for them, and that's compete for being the best coffee place, even though they epically fall short of Timmy Hoes. Coffee is what's in right now. People want something mildly healthy, and the stimulent drug in it, which is more addictive than marijuana by 1000 times, makes people want to buy it every day.
