I was going to PM Uno and ask him if he wanted to make a game with me, but he hasn't been real active lately, so I figure it couldn't hurt to just throw it out to anyone who is interested.

Basically, I want to work with someone to create a small computer game. Nothing over the top, or anything. I havn't came up with an idea for it yet, figured that could be a group effort.

The only real limitations is I only work in 2d. I can do 3d, but I dislike it because I spend more time fixing bugs than I do anything else. Even then, my 3d skills are like early first person shooter style, or racing games. That's it.

As for what I am good at....not a whole lot actually. My sprite drawing is barely passing, my level disign is s*it, and I just am not that creative when it comes to writing stories, for games that are story driven.

Well, if anyone wants to work with me on this, just say so.

I've been thinking of making a gameboy-advanced game for my friend's birthday. I have a few scattered ideas, but no solid story yet.

I suppose I could. I'm good at running with ideas, and soundtracks. Most of the music I write is video game style music anyway, but nobody I've ever started a soundtrack with went on to finish the game. Otherwise, I'm semi-good at pretty much everything not art-related, so I think you'd at least need a 3rd person if you want me to work on it with you.

This reminds me of the game Origin was supposed to develop... That never happened stongue.gif

If I'd more time I would love to participate, but that's unlikely. Good luck though. (Wait, Uno develops games?)

well, as for soundtracks, that's the last thing that gets done, so if it ever picked up, it would be awile before music would come up.

As for a gameboy advanced game, do you mean an actual game that you put on one of those flash cartridges that works on a GBA, or just a game that's style is from the GBA era?

Basically, I just need a game idea, and a maybe some help with level disign. From there, I can pretty much complete a crappy version by myself, then someone could do the sprites, and i could swap them in and redo things so they work with the new sprites.

That's beyond me. I don't know anything about the GBA hardware.

What do you use? Do you make flash games or what?

The end result is usually an executable file. Most of the time between 5-15 megs. As for what I use, it depends on what I am doing. If I have a problem I can't solve with the super easy GML I normally use, I will plug another language in for those spots. When working in 2d, there's usually no need for the more difficult languages.

Why not, I'm double posting.

Just so you all know, I am aware that a million times a week, some kid on the internet says "let's make a game", they come up with some massive plan for a massive game, everyone get's excited, then a week later, no one even talks about it.

What I am proposing, on the other hand, is something at a much smaller scale. Just need some sprite drawing, and some level disign, though first we would need to have a game type, and a concept.
