Anyone use Bing yet? Jinghao works on it, so no doubt he will have something to say. I would say that Bing is significantly smarter than Google with what it can do, catering to you and your needs.

BING IT ON!

I use google, but I really want to know how Bing is different. It's a topic that comes up quite a bit. Hopefully Grand will be cool and explain how it works different, or at least what the noticable differences are.

I wrote about it here: http://dailycow.org/node/528

Of course, there are gimmicky features like mouse-over (mouse over the search result and this thing expands on the right that gives you more options and details; search "originxt" and mouse over the first result—you get our navigation), but the most important is its focus on getting quick information for decision-making purposes.

Bing has cooler features, but Google still tends to give me the results I want if I'm trying to find something like a forum post... for now. stongue.gif Of course, I've switched to Bing.

Bing is great, much sleeker, but all this information-aggregation stuff has been practiced by google as well. Shopping, etc...

Doesn't aggregate information like travel and product ratings & reviews as well though. You think http://www.bing.com/search?q=seattle+to+oakland looks good; until you click the link titled "Cheap tickets from Seattle to Oakland", which takes you to a page of completely organized and tabulated flight data. It even gives you links to hotel info.

Then try searching for "olympus SP-565 UZ". The top box gives you the price, rating, and links to Bing Cashback (where to shop for the item) and to the review services/websites.

In a lot of cases, it is very smart about choosing the right information to show you. I'm not saying it's the best in every way or that it'll succeed google; simply by the nature of habit, it won't (We're used to Google and the tricks of "googling"). But I do believe it is a step in the right direction for Microsoft in specific and decision-making as a whole, and I invite everyone to give it a try.
