What do you think? Some of our past members (Wrath, Ice, Dragonrazor) have migrated there, and I decided to ask why. Humbling to a degree, but maybe it could be a good opportunity to realize why we can't get people to come and stay. (Do try to refrain from attacking the character of the individual yourself; VD didn't have a great rep here, but what he says might be valuable)

True, but he only showed us one side of him, if there are many.

Although I'm also curious by what he means by hacking into Google (like, what, obtaining data from port 80?), that's a topic of discussion elsewhere.

As for Kiro's question, I'd need you guys to help me with whatever we decide to do. The great thing about Origin right now is that it's populated with extremely capable people. Can I develop something by myself and make it as good as what we can accomplish together? No way

I understand that as the head honcho of this website, and knowing that you'd like to keep programming aspects of this website secret until you reveal them, and such is understandable. But outside of marketing the website virally -- which you know there doesn't exist a vantage point to market from at the moment -- where would you like us to begin, and what would you like us to do?

What'd be good is actually find out what everyone touts about themselves, and what they would be willing to contribute. Once we get the shape of the team assembled, then we can start working toward something with more focus.

We have done that before. I point you towards the majors thread that Nesticles started.

This seems like an interesting read. I kept meaning to check out The Hallow Life, but haven't the time. Don't have the time to read this either, but I'm subscribing to read later swink.gif

To be honest, I'd like to be more active, I really would. I'd like to contribute to this place so it would grow and become popular, and I did come back eariler in the year when this VD guy was around and scared me off by being a bit of a prat. But to be honest, I had not the time, with class commitments and what not.

I do recall that there where several gaming review type projects a few years back, I did a few myself. If something like that was still done, I could continue to do them. I actually had a few series overviews for a few game series I did a while back for one of my friends websites, that aren't being used any more. If something like that would be used to attract some people, I could submit those.

Welcome back. Stay for a while this time.

Anyway, I still think we should make a game of some sort.

At THL, they have a game and a radio station going. Think we could take on any of those endeavors?

A radio show would actually be interesting. I mean, we don't have the music scene like they do, but a talk show would be something. We could even have people call in. Ha!

Cool, a talk show sounds fun! I think we definitely have the talent to create one.

I'd like a new home page with more updated content! *pokes Jinghao* I'd volunteer to help, but I'm unsure if I could do it... I don't even know what language you are using, how to use databases, and how Invision Power Board works. stongue.gif Unless you want to teach me. >_>

I wonder what the best way to do that talk show would be though.

Alternatively, we could all submit podcasts, and create a repeating radio show over that lol

We could do that, and we could also do something over skype, although that would require more planning and collaboration. Another option would be for the "host" to ask a question or come up with a topic and have people submit recordings of their responses. Then the host could combine these recordings and add music/narration/whatever.

^ Funny, because Wrath and I contemplated doing a live show via Skype for a while xDD

I'd like to see something like this at Origin though. Might be interesting.

*grin* I am the music scene, with honors to Jeff, though I honestly don't think internet radio has a huge following, particularly because of its lack of publicity. It's something that wouldn't get a major flow of people, nor would there be a reason to, unless we were to do talk shows and were popular. But vlogs are more easily accessible.

As for game reviews/game, it would be tough to get a corner on the market, or for people to choose us over any commercial games, or in the case of reviews, IGN/a billion others.
