Let's decide what sort of units we want.

So assuming we're going with modern (check out the theme topic), let's throw out some ideas for units (NOT tiles), and if their function (what their purposes are/what they can be used for) aren't obvious, explicitly state them. After we get some, we'll rank them in the order of preference.

Here are some obvious ones:

People (Infantry)
Tanks
Helicopters
Jets

I think that modern is a good idea for a start. Another idea to put on the list for future versions would be a cute micro world! I really like the mushroom huts in Maplestory. >_> We should have some of those in the future! stongue.gif Imagine having an army of ants, bees, and grasshoppers!

- submarines

Places
- industrial centers
- tech centers
- suburbs
- slums
- farmland
- places with other natural resources

- capital cities

Hm research is a good idea. Say, some of the more advanced units like jets come only with a certain number of "days" of research with a certain level of probability. Research can also improve units with a certain probability.

I like the idea of introducing randomness to the game to make it more interesting and realistic stongue.gif

Monastery

Archery Range
Castles
Universities
Wonders

Trade Workshop

And I think expanding it more:
Malls
Airports
Museums
Corporations

...and so on.

In order to avoid confusion, let's stick to units here. And to clarify, if what you're suggesting would be obvious to everyone, discuss how the units should function/what they should be used for, etc.
