1) The Sims - playable by all.
2) The Madden Series - Bringing the NFL to your living room, in your hands. Evolving yearly since 1990, this game really became 3D in the 2000s.
3) Call of Duty series
4) Halo 1, 2, 3 -- deep storyline, longer game
5) Any game released using the Quake Engine -- taking FPS to the very next level
6) F.E.A.R. -- play it at 3am. It will change your life.
7) Half-Life 1, 2 -- take on the government as Gordon Freeman
8) Gunbound, Maplestory, et al -- the MMORPG really changed the world of gaming online. After all, its free. Included here can also be Facebook games
9) Far Cry 1, 2
10) World of Warcraft
