$100 million from the Federal gov't so far, only to go up.

It's practically an anarchic "nation" so things will get quite murky the more the U.S. gets tied down.

We should adopt Haiti as another territory.

Take the 100% black part of Alabama, remove any stray technology or infrastructure at all influenced by the 20th century, quadruple the population per square mile, remove 98% (no exaggeration) of trees, halve the literacy rate, remove all business, education, medicine not provided by an outside charity group, and you've got our newest territory, Haiti!

BTW, I think it's already been adopted. American military presence is already increasing and they'll probably never leave.

Can I insert my bit here about military overstretch?

Har har, I'm like Rush Limbaugh. Except, unlike Limbaugh, I actually have a heart.

Hey, at least they're spending the $100 million plus on important rebuilding tools, like mustard and cigarettes:

I haven't been following. Was it the quake or the resultant water damage the primary cause for the deaths?

Probably the quake, I haven't heard anything mentioned about the water, most reports mention people being buried under rubble.

laughed because they talked about bush and clinton leading some kind of effort to help them. Thought how boned they are.

At this point, I'm sick of all the crap I am supossed to care about.
