Tis the season of finals for me, and you know what that means! Procrastination.

What better way to procrastinate than to look back at Origin three or four years ago and see the activities of those times. Honestly, we were a precursor to more centralized social networks like Facebook or MySpace, except we really connected as a community, and we should be immensely proud of that. I know I am.

Reading posts from the past, seeing the community, really induced tears of nostalgia. Origin is such a large part of my life—its origins were during my middle school years—and I'm sure many of you could say the same.

Origin will be a lifetime community. Although our lives' paths have crossed and turned and many of us have gone to college or work, Origin will always have a place in the origin of my heart.

I hope everyone is doing well. Happy holiday season!

Hope you're all doing well, too. It's hard for me to believe I was a part of this 7 years ago, and intermittently since then. It's quite an almost eerie look back at this point to what my life used to be like back then -- so many things have changed, both as just part of growing up and otherwise. Sitting here in my NYU dorm room writing a paper on Michel de Montaigne and appreciating a Charlie Kaufman film sure is a ways off from trying to hide my internet habits back in my elementary school computer lab and watching Dragonball in a crazed excitement. Dragonball. That's such a weird f*cking word, isn't it? At least to me now. But that's what brought me here in the beginning, and it sure as hell was fun. I guess in some ways I haven't changed so much, or have reverted in new ways to my younger behavior -- I do play video games again now, after a long stint of unintentional abstinence as the college dorm life seems to have unavoidably reinstituted it, though now it's Call of Duty instead of Sonic Adventure 2 or Budokai or somesuch. Last night I was flipping channels in the wee hours of the morning and came across Cartoon Network. I haven't watched adult swim for years, and some anime was on. I didn't know what it was, and couldn't make much sense of it, and didn't really care to, so I suppose my taste has matured, it can be called that, though really I know my younger self would have probably stayed with it and become a semi-devoted fan, so in some ways perhaps I have less of an attention span now.

Seven years ago. Wow. I joined shortly after (or was it just before?) my birthday in 2003. (Don't mind the 2004 date listed -- back then I was SSJ4 Bart I believe for a time, then Roger Smith, then decided it'd be cute to nonsensically ban a whole lot of people and disappear then come back with a different account.) Anyway, why did I write all this self-reflective meaningless garbage? Same as Jinghao, finals procrastination.

P.S.: I love that it still says Happy 2010 on the top.

Nice to see you're still alive. NYU, eh? It sounds like you're within a couple hundred miles from half the active members on Origin. (Or can you really call them active? stongue.gif)

I'm still working on having a Happy 2010, with only a few days to go. All this rain is making me happy, I guess?

I check in every once in a while, a few times a year. I dunno, nostalgia? When real life friends and family fail, I miss my old online ones.
