He joined a startup a couple months back. Yesterday morning he passed away from a heart attack. He was a healthy 23-year-old guy...

It makes no sense that he would get a heart attack.

Has anyone experienced deaths of close friends or relatives yet still in their prime?

Remember Elissa Horton from Leland? She passed away my Sophomore year at Leland from that choking incident.

As far as anyone else, not anyone particularly close.

You sure it wasn't your friend's diet or anything? Maybe the place he lived?

Yeah I remember Elissa. Origin remembers her too: http://originxt.com/members/405

I don't think it was his diet... I mean, he did eat a lot of frozen food while at Berkeley, but he's been living at home for the past few months.

Sorry to hear about that man. It just goes to show that life is a precious thing and that it can end at any moment. My cousin died of a heart attack at 16 because he had a heart condition. It's quite possible that your roomate was born with one too. GOD Bless, dude.

My condolences.

I haven't had any super-close friends pass away. I imagine what Mike said about a heart condition is true, it's very unusual to have a heart attack at that age in perfect health.

I'm sorry for your loss. How close were you with him?

I'm not sure if Mike had a heart condition, but that's a plausible guess.

We were partners in our Operating Systems class, and we took other classes together. And I guess I lived with him.

I mean, he wasn't as close as Joey or Tricia, but I spent some time with him.

The fact that you lived with him makes him pretty close. I mean, he basically lived the next room over from you.

How about "So my ex-roommate passed away... by H34DSH07"?

I'd like to point out I had this name before jingy posted the topic, too.
