Lets see, I skimmed this topic but here is my thoughts

(this list goes from EASIEST to HARDEST)

HTML - make basic websites
BASIC - make the computer do thinks like print words or beep silly things really
TrueBASIC - bit more of the above
DHTML - more advanced HTML, make smarter looking websites
XHTML - as above, only harder
JavaSCRIPT - a bush to code yourself, but http://javascript.internet.com has some ready made SCRIPTS to put into your site
C++ - im not sure what this does, but it is hard as hell
DarkBASIC - finally, this is how you can make GAMES. however if you even attempt this without knowing any BASIC then you are an idiot and i hope you go blind from looking at it

I know loads of HTML and BASIC, and have been coding for over 4 years (thats right, since BEFORE i even got on the internet i started writing HTML codes), and I still can do very little in DarkBASIC

You could probably get a rip on kazaa, but if I were you I would buy the program. Its really cheap (i got it for 30 quid, about $15) and it comes with 2 HUGE booklets - a guide to BASIC (which I completed when i was like 2), and then the DarkBASIC stuff (im on like page 5 out of 400 !_! eep)

That good or you want more information?

(PS for the likes of JavaSCRIPT or anything website based, you will NEED to learn at least the basics of HTML to even understand them)

Here's my order of easiest to hardest.

HTML - Wow, you gotta learn that before trying to take down anything else.
XHTML - Same thing as HTML, except a little stricter. (Origin is XHTML based)
DHTML/Javascript (same thing) - the next thing I tackled. They're pretty easy, but I never got a book on them. They don't have free public online manuals to download like PHP does stongue.gif
PHP/CGI - I took on this next. This is fairly simple after you get used to it. Good for making online scripts like Origin's RPG and stuff...

C++/Basic/DarkBasic - Haven't done much...

Mate, BASIC is easier than HTML. Its pretty much telling the PC what to do in english ie

PRINT "Grand smells"

stongue.gif

There is no way it should be included with C++ and D-BASIC

(and DHTML And JS arent the same bigeyes.gif liar ! stongue.gif)

Look, I'm too cheap to get a complier stongue.gif So I haven't done any basic/C++ etc... And about the DHTML thing, Yes they are. DHTML and JS are the same. DHTML is another word for saying "Advanced JS that only works in really new browsers".
