Best
-Super 8
-Moneyball
-Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows

Worst
Wish I had something to add here, but I didn't watch any movies I did not expect to like. This coming movie year should have a lot more booms and busts.

Also, everything in Moneyball was accurate. It showed them specifically NOT winning any playoff series.

I could have been right but the Saints kicked all the field goals Indy was supposed to kick....and Indy missed one.

On-side kick to open up the second half...brilliant call since it worked and led to a score, and even if it hadn't worked the game could have still gone to overtime at 24-24.

QUOTE
The Colts were unstoppable in this game up until Peyton threw that interception.

And yet, we knew the entire time that New Orleans won potentially close games by creating and forcing turnovers. They did it when they needed to all year...and then on the last drive of the game for the Colts, the Saints held inside their own 5 yard line. Nothing changes the fact that the Saints owned the 2nd and 4th quarters, and those are the quarters you dominate if you want to win.

Also, just so you know, first time SB teams are 5-19. Suck it. stongue.gif

The only part I was debating was the opposing offenses. You said they were "Even", when they are not. The rest of my post was simply explaining my opinion of what will happen in the game.

If you want to start debating my opinion with me...as in my score prediction...you can have fun talking to yourself. Otherwise, we can move on to talking about the impact the loss (or limitations) of Freeney might have on the Colts. Well?

I can argue with it..o_o. The Saints had the best offense in the NFL. There is no "Even" for that category, and really no argument against it. The Colts have no running game to speak of either. Let me also point out that the Saints struggle against the run a lot more than they do against the pass, and still force a number of turnovers (even if its not Manning).

The Colts have a great D-Line, but the Saints have a better O-Line than people give them credit for, so I don't see Brees getting bothered as much as he was in the game against the Vikings. That said, I still expect Manning to have a better game than Brees. As far as special teams, I don't see a huge difference in their personel, but the Colts have more discipline as far as important game time situations.

My Prediction:

Saints 28, Colts 23

In the end, I think the Saints' running attack will be the deciding factor, as it was in the NFC Championship game. It won't be so much Manning not pulling it out for his team, as much as it will be the Saints controlling time of possesion and NOT being as heavily penalized as they were against Minnesota.

My pre-game description of how the game would turn out wasn't too far off. It's just funny that the play that basically ended the game for the Vikings was a Favre, across the body interception.

Ironically, after how the Vikings handled the Cowboys last week, I can see where Keese is coming from. My picks already got blown up by the Jets upsetting the Chargers...but I still think the Saints are going to pull this one out. The Arizona-Green Bay game was good if you only like watching sub-par defenses stuggling to make a stop on ONE play, much less an entire possesion (meaning the offenses were good but didn't have much to worry about). I look at the Vikings/Saints game and see what is likely going to be the best game of the playoffs. Favre against a turnover happy defense, the Saints running attack against an excellent defensive line, and two above average special teams fighting over field position, is going to make for a fun game.

Or the Saints will turn the game into a blow out like they did againt the Cards. Who really knows?

I always thought it to be more like Kwan or Kwain. There are only so many ways to say something that short, XD.

My last name gets converted into silly things sometimes, even though the spelling (Prather) only allows for two reasonable pronunciations. I've heard about 7 variations of my last name over time...the most entertaining one being "Panther" (which I've heard a dozen times at least...and there is no N in my name). I've been forced to conclude that many people are just stupid or dyslexic.

Prather (ay sound) <-Correct
Prather (aa sound) <-Acceptable
Pratter
Prater (ay sound)
Pater (ay sound)
Parther
Panther

That's a short list actually...I can't even begin to describe how non-native english speaking people have destroyed my name.

The Cowboys beat the Saints fairly in a moderate scoring affair. After that everybody started resting for the playoffs. The defense has been consistently average otherwise, with a high rate of forced turnovers, and the offense went on a temporary leave of absence. I expect them to come back with a vengeance.

There are always going to be people who glom on to fantasy worlds and act stupid and crazy. They're only getting noticed now because the movie was so popular and the present day media is always looking for a downside or a drawback. Do people not know how many trek nerds are still running around acting weird in public and anti-social at home? After a while this will end up being the same thing.

I think it's pretty obvious what name I'd pick. Just seeing the blank looks on people's faces when I answered their question with "It's Odd", and then walk away, would be priceless. Plus, once I did that I wouldn't have to explain to them why that was my name...if they ever figured it out.

There should probably be some clarification here...are we picking the top artists/bands, the top albums, or the top songs? I likely have my picks regardless but, I'll wait to see if anybody wants to beat me to it.

I turned Al to the dark side...he has the same Superbowl match-up as I do. Also, update your picks. You should have known that a Ravens victory meant they would play Indy. stongue.gif

Skipping the wild card round (obviously), my picks are as follows:

Cowboys over Vikings (+3)
Saints over Cards (+7)
Colts over Ravens (+10)
Chargers over Jets (+13)

I listed margin of victory too. The best game is likely going to be Dallas at Minnesota, with the solid Vikings going against the red hot Cowboys. I believe the deciding factor in this game will be a special teams play, because Dallas won't stop the rush and Minnesota won't stop the passing game. I like the Ravens a lot right now to be honest, but I think Indy is just better at winning the tough games when it counts. If Baltimore pulls off the upset again however, I expect them to beat the Chargers as well.

Chargers over Colts (+6-7)
Saints over Cowboys (+13-14)

Easy decision here. The Chargers will fight and claw their way to a win with their defense, and the Saints will find their rythm again at home and likely crush Dallas.

Superbowl Pick:

Saints over Chargers (+10)

If Rivers makes it to this game, I expect the Saints' turnover happy defense to steal the ball from him more than once, despite allowing some scores, and leave San Diego playing from behind the entire time. A good game, but not as close as last year's finale.

Fair enough. But yes, I was implying Bad Santa was crap.

QUOTE
I am Legend -- religious undertones, recycled doomsday plot.

Hitch -- love story, cute

Pursuit of Happyness - feel good

Hmmm...

I'm not seeing a point. Hitch was a crappy movie and the Pursuit of Happyness, while containing some good acting, was sub-par. I believe I said he acted well in bad movies, did I not? The Dark Knight is a good example for me to use here. It became the highest grossing movie in cinema history despite only having one good acting job in the entire thing. It was a great movie because of that.
