Pickle-Head, hands down. He was the first fantasy character that I saw that had regeneration: best ability EVER.

QUOTE (Xeno @ Dec 18 2002, 09:25 PM)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that he ment Goku would be stupid to be stupid, seeing as how he is set very well with a wife and two children. I dont think he wants vegeta's a$$ that much =D.
*

Goku has a beard. If you don't know, that means that he has a wife and kids to cover up the fact that he's gay. Being that he's a worldwide, and even universal superhero, it would be demeaning to his image if he was seen gay, on the simple premise that there are more straight people than gays.

Discuss.

I can't say that I particularly like the setting the role-play is taking place in, but I will say that it's not like I had any better ideas stongue.gif It has nothing to do with Odd's skill, it's just a personal flavor thing. I guess the years I've spent away from this place have twisted me into a different being. Who knows? Regardless, I have to thank you Odd. You actually made your character useful to mine! >=) I see interactionz.

Name: Nozdormu the Timeless
Age: Nozdormu does not age, but appears to be in the human prime.
Sex: Male
Height/Weight: 6'2" / 167 lbs.
Appearance: He very much appears to be a human, and act in all ways as a human. The Children of Winter are an organization based upon blending in and maintaining a covert stance, avoiding all attempts at identification of the agent in question. Most commonly, he has a shaved head and deep brown eyes- those with an animalistic and feral look upon them.
Powers: Nozdormu has the power over life and death- to a very small degree. His powers, highly sought after by the Children of Winter, have been honed for many years throughout their practices. Specifically, Nozdormu's abilities are such that he may alter living beings to his will, including himself.
He can shapeshift into animals- but due to the Children's Code of Conduct, he cannot take on the human form of any LIVING being. This is known as the False Life Paradox: a Child cannot turn himself into something that would mimic another being, lest he be taken over by that individual's thoughts and actions. Furthermore, this causes a space/time rift, as no two beings can have the ENTIRELY same "matter code," and would result in an explosion to rock all realms of existence...theoretically. If a living and sentient being is rendered dead, then the Child may take his form only after of disintegrating the victim in a ritual known as the Pyre of Identification, which takes several hours of meditation. Animal forms are more easy to transform into based on how similar they are to the shapeshifter: a monkey or ape would be easy, but becoming a micro-organism is almost entirely impossible for even Nozdormu. Favored forms include becoming a dire wolf: a wolf that seems to have grown to a bestial-like proportions that are twice the size of a man and equally powerful.

Nozdormu has been rendered "timeless" by the Children: he does not age, but is entirely mortal...to a certain extent. He ages like every other normal human, but for every year spent as a human, he must rest for two. If Nozdormu, after resting takes the age of 20 and continues living until he is 80, he must spend 120 years in hibernation, thus making his time spent in the "mortal world" entirely well-calculated and spent.

Finally, Nozdormu can meld into flora and other nature aspects (fire, water, and earth), but only if the matter itself can support him. He could hide within a pit of earth, a lake, or a large oak tree- but not a flower pot or the flowers themselves. Nozdormu can hear, but not see while melded- and cannot make any noise. He can remain in this meld for a maximum of one hour before he begins to take aspects of the substance. In example, Nozdormu, should he stay in a tree for too long, has his skin harden and requires much more water than he would normally. Although such meldings have terrific benefits (such as protection from bark)- it creates dependency (the need for water.)

Weapons: Nozdormu adapts well to whatever weapons he has at his disposal, most often the form of the animals he takes. When forced to maintain subtlety and stay in a human form, he relies upon primitive weapons most often: wooden clubs or spears (if he can find one or create it previously.)
Personality: Nozdormu does not have emotions as a normal person. His entire entity is dedicated to the preservation of the naturalistic world: he avoids all use of technology and even then would employ it's advantage if it meant to take out the greater threat. He is a cunning and manipulative being, capable of great atrocities from the normal human's scale...but to him is justified.

---
Date: 7-24-2011
Starting Time: 9:37pm

He had been here when they had come: clear abominations of nature who arrived due to the malicious and inquisitive desires of fel scientists of far off-realms. Whispers spoke to Nozdormu of their coming, but of which he had no idea would happen so recently. As he rode towards where a rift had recently appeared, he wondered if the Rift Takers would be there to meet him...sometimes, the two would have a bloody conflict while the next rift might mean that they would hold a temporary alliance. They were not the Children of Winter, whoever they were, and served no purpose to him other than as tools to vanquish the invaders.

But alas...the field was nearly barren, aside from the lost souls who were conversing with one another. They, whoever they were, had no intention of being here- that much was true. But they were sent because of THEIR people, into a plagued and festering land that Nozdormu was sworn to protect from developing hands that only focused upon the greed of humanity.

And as such, the Children of Winter were determined to further the acceleration of the world: to press on forth to Winter, so that they might all find themselves in barren wasteland...while the Children survive, knowing the trials and tribulation that surround such problematic circumstances. And so he rode down the hill, claws and fangs at the ready. They were to receive the same sentence as all, to experience the end of the cycle.

I was going to suggest relative power based upon how many posts we had...but after looking at Jinghao's post count, I've decided against even PROPOSING that, since he goes beyond god-modding stongue.gif

But obviously, having everyone at equal power will not entirely work. Perhaps we can work out a scale? =\

Because, Jingaho: people often become distracted or favor another character over their previous incarnation. People await on you to post, which may never come. It's just easiest and best if you have one character you focus upon.

I would have to ask that Rule #7 is a bad rule indeed. Friendships? What characterizes a friendship? What about emnities? It just sounds like a bad, forceful rule that may limit your ability to role-play your character.

Oh yeah <_< My bad, I forgot. It's been a while, I'm sure you can forgive me.

Dark Horror...READ H.P LOVECRAFT, MAN O_O Are you kidding me? CALL OF CTHULU!? THE DUNWICH HORROR!?

OMGWTFCAPSLOCK <_<

On a more constructive note, bringing back O33 would indeed be interesting. I'd like to see people's reactions to my new style of RP, as well as any sort of new character that I would bring along.

Although if we do any sort of RP, I believe a few rules should be instituted. Nothing too restrictive, as I'd like everyone to express themselves freely. More of something to keep people in-line. Any suggestions?

Could also possibly implement another clan system, with warring territories (as in the old O33.) This would be best equipped by some sort of moderation of a neutral party- someone who isn't participating in the game. Just a thought.

The O33 was something that began when a lot of us were younger and had a lot of confusing ideas. It helped us start a lot of writing, and was a place where mostly me and Odd did our thing. It was never successful, in my opinion...however, it was fun while it lasted. I'll never forget Jacen- my first RP chara =)

But what happened to Dark Horror twinged with a modern setting? Lovecraftian lore would be fantastic.

True anarchy is impossible. Those that would propagate anarchy are more in favor of a Socialist or Communistic government and like you said- a utopia at that. I think it's well-accepted that utopias are indeed impossible: wherever there is an Eden, there are those that would seek to destroy it. Communism is a very difficult pondering indeed, where it is very similar to anarchy.

Anarchy believes in that nobody shall rule and that none are above the other. Communism is a very similar, an almost parallel viewpoint, save for those instances where the governed believe in a leader (as with all modern forms of Communism, from Soviet Russia to Cuba to North Korea).

But what is a leader? Webster's tells us that a leader is "one who is in charge or in command of others."

That's kind of harsh, yeah? But it's in the truth. There needs to be a rallying cry to a force, otherwise there is nothing but disorganized chaos. Military does not work without a leader- unless of course, you want your misinformed troops to make a "democratic decision" on behalf of their platoon. But why wouldn't you want the majority to rule? Because others have far greater experience and wisdom than others, as with military colonels, generals, captains, etc. Sometimes, that leadership is wrongly given which leads to the death or maiming of their soldiers. Sometimes leaders make mistakes- usually criticized by the people that do not support them.

Consider that we need a leader. We need a model: God, the President- whatever. It's a driving force, to follow behind or to become. A student would be very hard-pressed to self-teach himself. Imagine learning all of the things you know now by yourself. To some, it simply comes naturally. To others, it is a behemoth of a challenge that could never be completed.

Humans are stupid. They need someone, or something. What they really want is someone that never makes mistakes, can accomplish everything flawlessly, and supports every single view whilst rejecting one. If we had a leader for each of us, customly-built...might be achieved. But a 1 to ~200 million ratio? Not likely. Democracy sucks, get used to it.

My expertise in the American legal system is ghastly, but I am of the opinion that the IRS is the best we could come up with. The government simply NEEDS to collect taxes: paving roads, installing community locales, hiring maintinence (sp?) and federal employees. It funds your police force, your fire department, your science labs, and all other things that are or ever were funded by the United States government.

However, the execution of this tax collection...meh. It's debatable whether or not it's actually useful or effective. The "government" in question COULD be local, where either (a) States, (b) Counties, or © Cities themselves could allocate funds- but this removes a lot of the power of the federal government. We practice Federalism- we, as people, apparently gave consent for the government to allocate most of it's power at a national level. I feel that this is best: the Articles of Confederation are proof enough.

Well, you certainly pose an interesting question. But of course, I am here to give my own answer.

Again, as people have stated above, religion is one of the major defining points of this discussion...otherwise there are very few answers. What defines our decision is dependent upon our love of life: I have found that those without religion have found themselves to be at a loss for happiness. At least some, but remember- not all. I have not been away long enough toforget that Origin has a very scientific community.

Understand that the man that does not fear death- a person who has not ruled out the possibility of killing himself in any particular situation greets this problem with gusto. For me at least, I accept that the fates will guide me to extending my life by taking the placebo or ending it in an instant by taking the death pill. I am of the very strong opinion that everything happens for a reason and that there is very little chaos contained within our universe (if there is chaos, it is counter-balanced by an equal measure of law in controllable stasis that is eternal.) This is a personal opinion however. I do not pretend that this is a universal law and will not try to convince people into believing it- it is simply MY religion in that everything pales in it's potence to it.

But this does not fully address your question. Singularity put it best with his answer- "What I'm saying is that just because we don't know the meaning to life doesn't mean there isn't one." It's a half-fulfilling however, a meager nourishment to thought. Relating back to my previous paragraph, I do not fear my own demise. I know that this is part of a universal equation that I am apart of, no matter my insignificance. I have found my answer and purpose in life- but not entirely where it came from or why I should carry it out. This still puzzles me...alas, either (A) Our minds are too primitive to understand or (B) Answers are far too different to base upon truth.

Reality is subjective, as some would say. I feel this is an additional thought that was furthered by Superlative Horses.

Forgive typos. I normally don't spell-check posts.

Before I should begin with my tale, as any tale should begin, I should tell you that I do not consider myself evil. I do not label what I do as base- or even sinister. It is simply the grand scheme of things and how that all plays out, all according to plan. I would remember well that it was 78 years ago where I was struck with my evolution. I call it an evolution for the very fact that it brings me above the normal, intelligent human being: it makes me stronger, faster, and even smarter than you. It enhances my being so much, that it would be foolish to remain and attempt to blend in as a normal human, living a normal human's life without attracting unwanted attention. Even so, there is a price to be paid by shifting mortality: I, whom you may refer to during this tale as the Protagonist, devour the flesh of sentient beings. I do not eat food or drink water as a human may, for it provides me with negligent nourishment. Rather, I must consume your fellow man in order to survive and to sustain myself. I will repeat that this is not a necessary evil in any case. Your own kin eat the very same life forms that they were derived from at the beginning of time, even the youngest of animals based on how tender the meat is and how flavorful it remains. In fact, I would consider myself to be better than humans: I do not eat children, because the flavor is not what I would hold dear to me. My kind, whom the ancient tribes of North America call the Wendigo, have survived for centuries among you all.

Before the Industrial Age, our lives were very complicated to hold outside of vast urban areas, where even then it was troublesome. Today, it is not such a chore, but still a difficulty due to the nature of your being- in that you police your own ilk. Even animalistic intelligence regards killing as something that is required in the cycle of life: my existence is no worse then what you are doing right now, eating your meals three times- even more, a day. I do have the feeling that some of you still hold your bias against me, considering me monstrous- but this story is not to educate you and change your feelings about the Wendigo and their existence. This is the proceedings of my life, my work, leading up to the day that the Reaper had tread too close for me to continue with my own existence. Without anywhere to go, and without any place to hide, I present to you, my endeared reader, the beginning of my end.

---

This remains as a work in-progress for me. Do not think that I'm here or anything stongue.gif I'm just popping in.

To some, the world is of beauty and majesty- but to others, it’s a world of hate. For many years, the Holy Imperial Empire led by Emperor Barbarossa had conquered foreign lands, and the threat of global war looms overhead ominously. Barbarossa’s land, Orinas, is ushered into submissiveness by his iron fist, while the Northern Territories are muted by crusader’s calling out his name for war. The mysterious lands to the east remain just that- mysterious, as the government of Orinas denies any accusations of war occurring there.

The current year is 3257, where Emperor Barbarossa continues to reign (and he has since 3328). He rules from the Hanging Gardens District in the capital, Orinal, watching down on the peasants as they toil away…all for his kingdom, after all.

At any rate, yeah. Wrath did introduce me to her. Although I was the one who stayed for quite a period of time while he slipped into in-activity. Seems the tables have turned, though...

As for why I'm only staying here for a limited amount of time, there's a lot of things going on in the future. I'm running a gamer con in November (something that's renown throughout Michigan for those loyal role-players) and I was personally asked to manage a con that gets hundreds of attendants, despite my age. Something I am not going to neglect- and I feel at that time, I won't be posting much on here. What occurs from now until August is what will define me coming back after that period of time.

I would make my own improvements to the RPG system, but I find working here is just a bore for me. So I'll stay chill, and just watch the rest of you toil away. And no, I don't imagine I'll be entering in any story contests or RPs for the time being pwink.gif so don't ask.

And yes, Roger, I do remember you. No worries. My memory is quite excellent, if I say so myself.

I'm back. Yeah, I know. It's been a while- right? Well, I've decided as of right now, I'm returning for a short span of time. This short span of time may or may not influence if I'm staying for longer. It remains undecided.

But I'm here. Summer's arrived, and that means a lot of nights doing nothing. Might as well be a bigger time-waster and post around on here for a while. I kind of miss this place, in that sick, twisted way of being bored pwink.gif

I see that you guys have made some changes to the place. Nicely done, I might add.

Enjoy me while I'm here.

Sonic, you might want to look back a few pages to see your status in the RP. As per what Becca would say, Uno must be skipped for the sake of time preservence, so Jeanette- you're up.
